Scott MontagneLead Pastor
Scott has been in ministry since 1972 and has been the Lead Pastor at Bayside since 1982 when he and his wife, Leilani, came to the small church of 39 people. Scott’s longevity at the church and the steady growth of the congregation have taught him to adapt to change, remain relevant to the times, and to stay in touch with the needs of the church body. Scott strives for team-oriented leadership, and a preaching/teaching style that relies heavily on the Word of God with practical application for everyday living.
Brent HirschyAdministrative Pastor
Brent has been in full-time ministry for 26 years and has been the Administrative Pastor at Bayside since 1999. In addition to his preaching and teaching duties, he oversees small groups, men’s ministry, greeters, ushers, and missions. Brent oversees the building and grounds and helps manage the financials along with the deacons. His heart is that all come to a personal relationship with Christ and Bayside be a place of love, acceptance, and forgiveness.
Brandon WessnerYouth Pastor
Brandon has been the Youth Pastor at Bayside since 2005. He is a ‘local boy’ - born in Bremerton, attended North Kitsap schools, and graduated from Olympic College and Northwest University. While attending Northwest, he served as Junior High Youth Director at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo until he he felt God’s call to youth ministry at Bayside. Brandon’s heart is to lead young people in a lifetime commitment to Christ and “to prepare people for the road of life, not prepare the road of life for people.”
Leilani MontagneMinister of Music
Leilani has been devoted to church music and worship since the age of 12 and in ministry all her life. As the Worship Director at Bayside, her ministry includes arranging music and leading the worship team. She is also a piano teacher and an accomplished performer who has won several awards. Leilani’s passion is music, her desire is to share a balance of contemporary and traditional styles, and her heart is to lead others to join her in worshipping the Lord.
Barbara BrumaginAdministrative Assistant
Barbara has been in church staff ministry for 25 years and on the staff at Bayside for 10 years. In addition to her position as Office Manager, she is involved in Women’s Discipleship, a member of the ShareNet Board of Directors, the Connections Director (connecting guests to the church family and connecting people who want to use their spiritual gifts in ministry) and was a Celebrate Recovery leader for several years. Barbara came to Kingston from San Diego ,where she graduated from Point Loma College and was Executive Assistant to Christian author and speaker Dr. John Maxwell for 11 years. Barbara’s heart is to fulfull the Great Commission by helping people develop a sense of belonging.
LuAnn BuffChildren’s Ministry
LuAnn began teaching Sunday School at age 17 and has been the Children’s Ministry Director at Bayside since 1996. She oversees all aspects of Sunday morning children’s programs and all outreaches to the children in the community. LuAnn has helped bring an exciting Sunday School program to Bayside that teaches the children through visual aids such as costumes, drama, music, and art that God is real and the stories of the Bible actually occurred. LuAnn’s heart is to teach effectively and help children apply what they learn in their lives so they will better understand who they are in Christ and build a strong foundation in Him.
Marilea GrayWomen’s Ministry
Marilea has been involved in ministry since the age of 14. She has taught Sunday School, youth, young adults and was director of the Missionettes program for 2 years. She has been at Bayside for 16 years and the Women’s Ministry Director since 2000. She oversees groups such as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), Women’s Bible Studies, and Women’s Retreats, and is actively involved in planning women’s events and launching new women’s ministries. Marilea also works part-time in the church office and is the Small Group Administrator where she helps connect interested people with small groups that meet their needs. Marilea has the heart of a servant and demonstrates it by serving others and by helping others find their place to serve.
